1. Cook macaroni for 7 minutes in boiling salted water.
2. Drain.
3. Put syrup into strong saucepan and boil without stirring until a rich golden brown colour.4. Blend cornflour with a little of the measured milk.
5. Add remaining milk to caramel.
6. Allow caramel to dissolve.
7. Add a little of the hot caramel milk to the blended cornflour.
8. Return to saucepan, boil 1 minute.
9. Add macaroni.
10. When cold cover with sliced bananas and grated fresh apple or sliced apple, top with whipped cream and chopped toasted almonds.
Ingredients:
2 oz. quick cooking macaroni
1 pint milk
2 bananas
2 eating apples
3 good tablespoons golden syrup
2 level tablespoons comflour
whipped cream and toasted almonds for decoration (could be omitted)
